Supporting Intensive Care
The Northcare Foundation was established in 1997 to promote excellence in Intensive Care research and education.
Since its foundation, Northcare has provided seed money to support research projects at RNSH. These projects have often gone on to receive larger grants from major funding bodies, resulting in internationally renowned research and publications.
Northcare also fosters a grant-program assisting Critical Care Nurses to undertake advanced studies such as Graduate Certificates in Intensive Care Nursing and the Masters Degree of Critical Care Nursing.
The Foundation also sponsored the Northcare Simulation Centre, the in-situ simulation space in RNSH ICU.

THE NORTHCARE FOUNDATION DINNER 2014
This dinner was held to mark the opening of the new Northcare Simulation Centre, our in-situ simulation space in the Intensive Care Unit at RNSH. The simulation equipment and task trainers were kindly sponsored by the Northcare Foundation. A good time was had by all, and the ‘patient’ survived to tell the tale!
THE NORTHCARE FOUNDATION DINNER 2015
The 2015 dinner celebrated The Northcare Foundation’s contribution to nursing scholarships. The Foundation supported more nurses in 2015 than ever before. These celebrations were accompanied by a clinical presentation on the use of ultrasound imaging in intensive care. Demonstrations followed, on a manikins and a healthy volunteer (one of the Specialists!).
